Brand Manager - Whisky, Japan

Job description

Key Activities:

 Marketing Campaign Development & Execution:

  • Lead the development and implementation of innovative and impactful marketing campaigns across various ATL & BTL channels, including digital, social media, public relations, events, and trade marketing.
  • Manage the brand’s A&P budget effectively, optimizing campaign spend and maximizing ROI.
  • Develop engaging brand content, storytelling, and activations that resonate with target consumers and enhance brand loyalty.
  • Track and analyze campaign performance metrics, generating insights to refine strategies and optimize future campaigns.
  • Manage POSM ordering, delivery, storage and local production within allocated A&P

Sales Support & Market Penetration:

  • Collaborate closely with the sales team to achieve ambitious sales goals, providing them with the tools, training, and resources they need to succeed.
  • Develop and implement trade marketing programs and initiatives to drive visibility and sales within on- and off-premise accounts.
  • Build strong relationships with key on and off Trade partners.
  • Visit trade and attend events where necessary.

Product Innovation & Portfolio Management:

  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and consumer preferences within the whisky category.
  • Contribute to the development of new product concepts and line extensions that meet evolving market demands.
  • Manage the brand’s existing product portfolio, optimizing performance and identifying opportunities for growth.

Profile

 Must have experiences and skills;

  • Fluency in English and native level of Japanese
  • 5+ years of proven experience in brand management, marketing, or a related field in alcohol industry with a strong focus on whisky,
  • or FMCG.
  • A deep understanding of the whisky category, including knowledge of different whisky styles, production methods, and market dynamics.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic brand plans and impactful marketing campaigns.
  • Exceptional analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Strong financial acumen and budget management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing
  • Creative problem-solving skills and think out-of-the-box mindset
  • WSET Level 3 or equivalent whisky certification is a plus.
