Africa & Indian Ocean Marketing Manager

Job description

As Africa & Indian Ocean Marketing Manager, you will be the marketing interface between the Rémy Cointreau Houses and Third Party Distributors in the cluster. You will develop and implement both long and short-term brand(s) strategies and tactics in the cluster. You will ensure all work is aligned to the Rémy Cointreau Brand(s) guidelines and management principles, as well as contribute in annual brands plan realization to achieve the Budget targets.

In close collaboration with the broader Marketing team, you will continuously develop Rémy Cointreau brands and support the growth and implementation of Rémy Martin, Cointreau, PHD, Botanist, DHG, Westland, St Rémy (image, markets etc.) in line with the brand(s) guidelines.

You will develop Brand Advocacy and drive the management of all Brand Ambassadors in Africa & Indian Ocean

You will develop and coordinate Education programs, On-Trade activities, new product launches, trade events…

You will develop and coordinate merchandising projects in the cluster and align with respective Houses and coordinate Digital brand activities in the cluster and align with global brand digital managers.

In conjunction with the Africa & Indian Ocean Area Managers and the AMEI Marketing Director you wil develop:

o Portfolio strategy for key markets to ensure the growth of the RC brands over a 5 year plans,

o Monitor the emerging markets and identify opportunities for new product launches or changes in SKU’s,

o Prepare annual marketing plans per country, brand and SKU,

o Ensure that all marketing plans are translated into ATL and BTL activities,

o Ensure that all deadlines and process identified and confirmed by the Brand team are adhered too.

You will be fully responsible for all financial & commercial aspects / deliverables inclusive of effective and clear management of the A&P, its tracking, performance analysis & reporting ensuring that all budget commitments are respected and delivered.

You will ensure all reporting and key brand deliverables and completed on time and in full.

You will conduct IWSR Markets Analysis, competition review for all spirits categories in the cluster.


You have a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing or related field and around 10 years of brand management and trade marketing in international environnement.

You will bring in particular a strong knowledge and experience of the Nigerian and South African markets and a Brand Advocacy experience.

You have a strong leadership, negotiation and communication skills

You have excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills.

You are charismatic, entrepreneurial and high energy self-starter with the ability to function autonomously

Fluent English & must qualify for working within RSA.
